Polish Palestine Solidarity Campaign and Social and Cultural Association of Palestinians in Poland are pleased to invite you to a series of meetings with Jeff Halper – an Israeli peace activist and human rights defender.
Jeff Halper is the founder and director of Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions and was nominated for Nobel Peace Prize in 2006. The aim of ICAHD (www.icahd.org), which was founded in 1997) is resistance to Israel’s policy of demolition of Palestinian houses on the Occupied Territories (until now the Israeli authorities have demolished about 25 thousand Palestinian houses). ICAHD activists organize direct actions blocking house demolitions, rebuild destroyed building and resist the policy of expropriation, road building, apartheid, land seizures, wall building and destruction of olive groves. Halper has started a new type of activity based on joint and peaceful actions of Palestinians and activists from Israel and abroad aiming to rebuild destroyed Palestinian houses. He is an author of „Obstacles to Peace” and „An Israeli in Palestine” as well as numerous press articles. Mr Halper will give a lecture about his activity after which we are planning a discussion open to all attendees.
